How it works

Clyep is a home for short video explainers on AI and machine learning. Why it exists is its own page. This one is the mechanics: how versions work, how the videos are made, who makes them, and what counts as a view.

Every video has versions

When a video is improved, it is not replaced. A new version is published and the old one stays watchable. Each video page shows the versions on a line under the player, and a change log says what changed in each one, when, and who made it. Views and likes stay with the video across versions, so a re-cut never starts from zero.

Share links always open the current version. If you want to point someone at a specific cut, each version has its own address. Every version also keeps its own chapters, captions and transcript.

How the videos are made

Each video starts as a written specification of its scenes: diagrams, statements, lists and code, described in plain text files. A compiler turns those into animated scenes, a synthetic voice narrates the script, and the scenes are recorded and rendered into the finished video. Chapters, captions and the transcript come straight out of that recording, which is why every version has them.

The specifications live in a repository, so an improvement is a change to a file. Re-rendering the video from the changed files is what creates a new version, and the change log entry describes that change.

Who makes them

A person decides what each video teaches, directs the AI agents that draft and revise the specification, and checks every scene before it is published. Each series and video carries that creator's credit, on the page and in the video itself. Where a series has companion code, the video page links to it.

Views and likes

A view is counted when someone actually watches, not when a page loads. Likes need no account. No cookies are used for either; see the privacy page for the details.

Asking for a video

If the library does not have a topic you want explained, ask for it. We read every request. If we take one up, we make the video and may write to you for suggestions along the way. There is nothing more you need to do.
